“Floral Blossom” NEW COLLECTION

That’s right folks, I’ve decided to try out some new designs and as spring is in the air, a floral collection seemed fitting! I am making a range of jewellery and homeware items too after the feedback some customers gave as to loving the designs!

It is still working progress, so only a few items in Absolutely Crafty currently, but watch this space I am sure the collection will grow in no time at all.

Busy Busy Busy!!

The kiln has been fixed and all is up and running again, which is a relief, but I now have a busy couple of months preparing for Exhibitions & Craft Fairs! Exciting!

I will be exhibiting at the Freudian Sheep in their contemporary art exhibition: Colour & Contemplate from 4th April which is set to be a really exciting exhibit.

On 12th April, I’ll be at two craft fairs – Handmade & Timeless at Ipswich Town Hall and Rushmere Golf Club charity fair, so pop along to either of these to get some handmade goodies!

14th May is an Art evening at the Townhouse restaurant in Ipswich with collective group of artists, so I’m busy creating a new piece for the Spring theme.

And last but no means least an exhibition at The Upstairs Gallery in Beccles along with other Suffolk Open Studios artists from 18th May to 30th May.

Busy Busy Busy!!!

Ut-oh! Kiln problems…

Ut-oh indeed! Today has been a little problematic – I was mid firing when the kiln cut out and after a conversation with a kiln expert it was obvious some of the wiring needed fixing! So I am hoping it will be fixed some time this week, I can then get back to making my new pieces for my craft fairs on 12th April.

I will be attending two craft fairs on the same day (12th April) – how exciting! One at Ipswich Town Hall and one at Rushmere Golf Club. I will let you all know more details nearer the time, but look forward to seeing some friendly faces if you can make it.

Bespoke pieces…

This month has seen me making a few bespoke homeware pieces for people, something I haven’t really thought of doing before – but I loved it! Happy 2015!

Happy new year to you all! I cannot believe we’re in 2015!

I have set myself a New years resolution:- update you all frequently! 2014 flew by in a flash and I have started to think if I don’t document what I am doing or tell you all, I may forget myself. Plus it’s nearly been 4 years since I graduated and its always good to look back on what you’ve achieved in that time.

I’ll tell you one thing, I wouldn’t have achieved half the things I have, if I hadn’t had the support from my boyfriend, family, friends and of course every single person who has purchased, promoted and helped me along the way. I am truly grateful for everything you’ve all done for me and the confidence you’ve given me to carry on creating.

I hope this year brings more laughter, love & fun not only for me, but for you too. Lets make this the year that everyone, no matter who you are or what talents you have, that you all make time for a bit of creativity!!

6 months flew by….

Wow! What a busy 6 months have passed! Lots has been happening and I have not been updating you, oops!

So here it is, my round up of the comings and goings of my Glass world.

In June, we held a super successful Suffolk Open Studios, with lots of people coming to visit Fabiana & myself. We exhibited our work in the middle of the studio, as well as down the corridor to provide more space for Fab’s work. Great outlet to show your work to the public, we are hoping to exhibit next year too so watch this space.

I jet set off to Germany once again for 3 weeks, to be a Teaching Assistant at the wonderful Bilk Werk school. I worked with some fabulous tutors, Stephen Paul Day & Anne Lise Riond Sibony and met some amazing students and fellow colleagues. A worth while trip to learn some new skills and meet new friends.

September saw me exhibiting at Art on the Prom in Felixstowe, sun was shining and lots of the public turned out. For the first time since the show was started, they opened the small roundabout up to stall holders where I was placed. Great space to have, so lots of visitors could have a look.

Most recent happenings has been exhibiting at the Freudian Sheep gallery in St Helens Street. A fantastic gallery providing an opportunity for local artists to exhibit in a collaborative group. I have my work in the next exhibition in the gallery, “The Alternative Ipswich Museum” Opening night, 8th November. the exhibition will be up for a month so go and check it out if you can!

Exciting event to talk about my work!

So I have had an fab opportunity to organise an event to talk about the up and coming Open Studios in June. ReCreate have offered me free space in the Town Hall to hold a talk & presentation to all that are interested about SOS on Friday 9th May 2014.

Suffolk Open Studios: Meet the Artists, Be Inspired! is free and open to all. There will be an exciting talk from the Chairman of Suffolk Open Studios before listening to me talk (and show) some of the work I create. Hopefully this event will inspire more people to become involved in the arts and set up their own studio!

Come along! See what its all about!
